The right and religious
Hi,
I have been a Catholic my entire life. I love my religion but there are other parts I’m not fond of. Nothing is perfect after all. I know that. The power we have as people, as human beings, is the ability to adapt and evolve. Unfortunately, a lot of people fail in doing that. Some on purpose and others on accident. What I’m getting at is that people within the Catholic or Christian community (as it applies to both) are not the great people that they try to make the world believe. Going to church, reading the Bible, believing in God doesn’t make you a good person by default. It’s so much more than that. I have received the most judgement from so-called Christians. I have heard the most contradictions from so-called Christians. How is it that the right and religious believe that abortion is wrong but don’t believe that everyone should have access to free healthcare in the United States? Doesn’t every life matter? How is it that the right and religious believe that it’s important to behave like a “good Christian” but still defend and support someone like Trump? How is it that the right and religious believe that we should love thy neighbor but don’t believe that those within the LGBTQ+ community should adopt children or even get married?
If you are a Christian, then you believe that we are all sinners. I believe this to be true. No one is perfect and no one should pretend to be. A true Christian, loves without bounds, respects others without judgement, and admits fault when necessary. I wish we had more of those Christians in the world.
Thanks for reading.
